Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival

September 23 & 24, 2006

Clackamas County Fairgrounds, Canby, Oregon

It’s everything fiber from rabbits to yaks! The Oregon Flock & Fiber Festival (OFFF), is an all-volunteer event for fiber enthusiasts, fiber producers and anyone looking for a fun weekend. The mission of the Festival is to exhibit and demonstrate the full spectrum of natural fibers (plant & animal), from beginning to end, from the animal or raw fiber to the finished product.

In the beautiful intimate setting of the old-time county fairgrounds, you will find fiber animal shows, raw fiber, skein and fiber creation shows, demonstrations and workshops. Over 100 vendors have everything imaginable for fiber projects and animal husbandry.

On the lawn demonstrations, exhibits, spinning contests and free hands-on activities for children and adults vie for attention. Bring your wheel, spindle or needles and join a fiber crafter’s circle. Meet your friends here and make new ones.

Both amateur and professionals compete in the Great Lamb & Cabrito Cook-OFFF, which offers free tasting to the audience. Saturday night’s BBQ potluck dinner is always a highlight of the Festival.

Other must-see activities include the Invitational Gallery, Author’s Table, Shearing Demonstration, Photo Contest Gallery, Fleece to Shawl competition, Parking Lot Fleece Sale, Wool Micron Testing and Kids’ Passport to Adventure. Don’t forget the Livestock Barns full of rabbits, sheep, goats, llamas and alpacas and maybe even a yak or two!

It’s a lovely time of year to visit Oregon, when you can expect warm days and cool nights. Admission to the Festival is free, everything is accessible and everyone is welcome!
