Helmet Liners for the Troops

There are more than 200,000 men and women serving in the USA military who are exposed to sub-freezing temperatures and harsh weather. If you're able to knit a woolen helmet liner or scarf, please do so and mail ASAP.

Approximately 30% of a person's heat is lost through their head so knitting
a helmet liner is the best way to conserve body heat and keep body temperatures up. Patterns for hand knitted, crochet and machine knitted helmet liners and a scarf are found at http://www.geocities.com/helmetliner/ .
